Friday morning started out with a meeting with all the riders in attendance. With the intent to be a pump up meeting it gets real when the message becomes sayings like “don’t be a hero”, “the intent is to finish, not to be in a Vegas hospital”, “hydrate, hydrate and hydrate more”. The reality that this is a desert is not lost on those who have done this before and its wise to heed their advice.

So then we headed off on a tune up ride to make sure our bodies and bike are okay to go tomorrow morning. We headed to Zabriskie Point and the ride was basically 5 miles uphill. Fun…thanks for the warmup. The views from their are from another world and some pictures are below to give you an idea.

I will try to get everyone more updates as I can. If not, everyone have a great weekend and I will be thinking of everyone as I go for century miles.

Hey Craig…has anyone mentioned lately the fact that you are a real goof! Yes, dial-up does still exist and, contrary to what you may believe, you will not die using it. I’m also not sure if I have told you this lately either, but I am VERRRRY proud of what you are doing for Daddy, yourself, Johnny and all of our friends and relatives who have been stricken with Diabetes.

I hope you have fun and stay healthy. Drink lots of water and get plenty of rest. You’re awesome!

I love you and will talk to you soon.

Dear Craig, I’m with you in spirit although I was never that adventuresome nor athletic. Stay well and know that I’m praying for you and your ridemates. Love, Mom

Hi honey…I know I told you this before but I am VERY proud of you. I hope you listened when I said not to push yourself too hard. You are my hero.

As for Economy Plus, bad news. No can do. Your return flight is a one cabin flight and not elligible for upgrades. I tried.

Can’t wait to see your smiley face and UNINJURED body tomorrow.

    Love & hugs,
    Karen
